Did someone say rebrand?

BY CAMDEN PAINTON

You may have noticed that many well-known companies have recently rebranded, a move that takes planning, strategy, and perhaps a little leap of faith. From company name changes to refined logos and updated color palettes, we love how a refreshed brand can elevate the customer experience. Take a look at these examples of a successful rebrand:

Company Name Change

🍩 Dunkin' Donuts officially became Dunkin' in 2023. Dropping the "Donuts" improved brand positioning since they offer much more than what was implied in their name. Dunkin' is an example of a successful rebrand because they stayed true to their roots while leveraging cultural momentum. They reimagined all designs and messaging to highlight the new brand and the variety of food and drinks they offer, resulting in a positive customer experience. Take a look at this video that teases their new brand name.

Refreshed New Logo

🍔 Burger King simplified their logo in 2021, resulting in a clean and nostalgic look that helped revitalize their brand and drive the fast food chain forward. The blue color was completely dropped from their color scheme, and new earth tones were incorporated to give it a retro look that is warm and friendly. The designer behind the rebrand said the new logo is a tribute to the company’s heritage with a sophisticated design that reflects simplicity, confidence and fun. Take a look at their rebrand video to see the new and elevated look.

Updated Color Palette

🥤Pepsi updated their color palette and logo in 2023 to reflect their new brand values and commitment to Pepsi Zero Sugar. Black and electric blue are now their signature colors. The color black is traditionally recognized as the zero sugar version of the beverage, thus representing their commitment to using less sugar across the entire brand. The electric blue symbolizes the company's bold and energetic personality, which is more representative of who they are than the previously dull brand colors.
