Annie Pierce is a dynamic communications leader and former journalist who has a passion for fusing creative concepts with storytelling to build compelling public messaging. She brings 20+ years of public and private sector communications and marketing expertise to JPW Communications.
Eight years as a reporter in her early career developed a foundation steeped in research, cultivating relationships and creative thinking. Those inquisitive characteristics have helped fuel Annie’s dedication to public service at the city, county, state and special district level for more than a decade. She’s a big believer that engaging communities and constituents in creative ways is the key to making government and public agencies relatable and approachable.
She’s a pro at crisis communications and media relations, having led the Del Mar Fairgrounds/State of California through a variety of scenarios ranging from wildfire evacuations and protests to event promotions as Communications Manager. She led the Port of San Diego’s creative initiatives as Creative Services Manager and has extensive marketing and brand implementation expertise at city and county public agencies in the Pacific Northwest.
Annie holds a bachelors of arts in journalism from Western Washington University.
